Female day

It was a female faces day for me!

The first image is for the Picasso-inspired ATC swap.  I call her 'woman in a sunhat', Tria pens, ATC.

The second image is a journal page.  'Helen of Troy', mixed media, around 7 by 10 ins.

I have been looking at a few art journal videos on youtube and decided to take the plunge with this page this morning.  I started by pasting down a poem about Helen of Troy, then did some painting, stamping and gluing.  It was going OK but then I decided it was too collagey in effect for me  and so I put a big splodge of pink paint in the middle and happily, the pink turned into a female face easily, and so echoed the original stimulus of the poem.  It may not be quite what I wanted but it gave me the experience of just keeping on going even when you think you've lost the plot.  This approach (keep on going) seems to work for art journalling .

Basically, I am glad I got started!!
