Lion-tailed macaque

A small watercolour sketch of a lion-tailed macaque.  I like to do macaques as I grew very fond of macaque monkeys when I was in my early twenties when I watched stumptailed macaques in captivity for about 3 years.  This guy here looks a bit grumpy, probably because I was concentrating too much.  Next, I think I will do a looser technique and perhaps a mother with an infant composition.

'Lion-tailed macaque, WC study 1,' WC paper, 5 by 7 ins.

Reference photo was by Babu Jayan on wikimedia.

This is the first of my watercolour studies for the 100's challenge on facebook.  But I will use the information learned for a larger painting of this species of primate.

Bye....
