'Girl with wool hair', mixed media, painting board, 12 by 10 ins
An experiment with collage. The hair is strands of craft wool in a rainbow colour. This hairstyle is fairly demure but more punk or imaginative hairstyles could made from wool or other fabrics.
I like to do collage so I hope to experiment with more collage pieces later, and although my fingers get very sticky from the gel medium, I find using glue rather therapeutic. Years ago, I made papier mache objects and sculptures from clay, (originally they were displayed in Wolverhampton Art Gallery - Wolverhampton Society of arts- but the pieces are destroyed now).
I will post this teen girl on Show your face Friday today.
Bye for now!

I love this colorful girl! I agree that gluing can be therapeutic. :)
She is stunning...I love coloured hair and what a fantastic idea to use wool...and from afar you'd never know it!! Good job...gotta love a punk or goth style because underneath is an artist lurking!

I always love the colours you choose, and what a great idea for the hair.
I love the wool hair on your girl this week. I am a great fan of collage and you have done a brilliant job on her. I would love to have seen your clay and papier mache creations. What a great shame they are all destroyed. Your work is always so vivid and so uplifting. xxx
