'Girls love pink', watercolours. 8 by 7 ins approx., paper
'The bearded painter', 7 by 5 ins., approx., paper
My preliminary studies are usually very tentative, especially when attempting a likeness from photos.
But they give me a start of an understanding of the form, shadows and colours in the photo. I can then go on and do a more expressive final painting of the subject at a later date, if I want to.
Bye for now....
Have a great weekend!!

I'm amazed how much detail you can get into such small water color paintings. Beautifully done
These are gorgeous but of course I am a huge fan! If you need ti create the accurate likeness you can always just refer to/keep the photo. I much prefer your impression of that photo! Check out Tommy Kane...all the artists who paint and draw him. It sure changes your perspective on different styles and interpretation of the very same face! I love it!

Beautiful ... they look so soft and light.
I really love your work. There is a real poetry to it, if you know what I mean? The colours, the softness and the composition are like gentle, rhythmic songs. I do hope this makes sense, but it's difficult to put into words exactly the effect your work has. It is lovely. Thank you so much for sharing. xx
