'Out of Africa- Lilliputian zebra', Wax crayon and acrylics, 12 ins square, card stock.
Continuing my recent series of colourful figures. Probably influenced by watching all those animal documentaries on TV. I have never been to Africa personally so this is imaginative Africa!
I crayoned the figures first and then used acrylic paint for the background. I used card stock because I like the smoothness for crayons, and it takes acrylics well too. The tree featured is an Acacia, a typical African plains species.
Have a good weekend!

June, this is FABULOUS as always! Your sentiment about watching those documentaries was too funny! It may not be "real" Africa, but your imaginary one sure does rock! LOLOL Love it! :)

What delightful idea! I love how tenderly the figure holds and looks at the tiny Liliputian zebra! You are such a clever artist with a wonderful style all your own. xx
Stunning work, amazing! Ruth x
Have not thought of Lilliput in so long! Lovely. And thanks for the throwback to Gulliver.
I might post this twice....
This is a very clever image which really works for me, particularly as I have been recently portraying 'Africans'.
