'Blue toucan', mixed media, 6 by 8 ins approx. (A5), paper.
'The troubadour and his lady', mixed media, 6 by 8 ins approx. (A5), paper.
'The purple-maned wolf', mixed media, 6 by 8 ins approx. (A5), paper.
These three paintings all use intuitive, or painting from imagination, technique. I love this technique as you never know what is going to turn up on the painted surface.
The method was more or less the same for all three artworks.
I started with an A5 piece of cardstock, either craft colored or white. Then I took some collage papers...painted papers I'd made previously and now torn into small pieces ... and stuck them down haphazardly on the cardstock.
The next stage was to add some water soluble neocolour crayons to fill in any gaps in the colour on the paper surface. All done in an abstract way at this stage, i.e., no thinking about imagery yet.
When I was happy with the colour patterns, I then turned the paper this way and that to see if there was any suggestion of images or storylines.
I outlined the image with stabilo all pencil and then proceeded to work on the colour with more neocolour crayon and eventually some acrylic paint.
Mostly animals came up...not surprisingly as I'm an animal lover.
Maybe I will feel like starting a large work next week.
What have you been painting recently? What subjects and what supplies do you use at the moment?
Have a lovely weekend.

Rally wonderful art. Love all three ❤️ Technique is rather difficult, I think🤔
Take care yourself and have a great weekend 👍
Beautiful works. I liked reading your technique too. I've never tried painting that way-I'm going to. I have a painting in my head that I want to try-still trying to think it out-perhaps just procrastinating a bit!
