Colourful abstract insects in watercolour.

 Watercolour.  Sketchbook pages.

Ladybugs.  Sketchbook page, A4 cartridge paper.

Close-up of part of page.

Butterflies.   Sketchbook page, A4 cartridge paper.

Close-up of part of page.

I used my sketchbook to explore watercolour hues.   The butterflies are more abstract than the ladybugs/ladybirds.  Fun to paint.

Have a lovely weekend!!

Susie will be sleeping, mostly!

Lovely! I can't stop thinking how fantastic these would be made into fabric and wrapping paper on Spoonflower. But they are wonderful as paintings too! Have a great weekend :)

Hi June, Azulparsnip (Robin) here.....love your fun bug sketches....I studied praying mantis briefly this summer and then I saw a lot of them every time I was outside. Same thing happened a couple years ago when I studied/drew squirrels everyday for a couple weeks!!!.....That didn't happen with the snails, There are not many snails around here. You have matured as an artist beautifully!
