Bear and elephant

Small art journal page.  Moon journal. Full moon 27-10-15.

'Bear and elephant', moon journal, october, 4 by 6 ins.

The background is a gelli printed page.  The elephant is a sticker from an animal sticker book.  I cut the bear image from a sheet of gift wrap paper.

Since the full moon for October was in Taurus, which is the bull, it suggested strength to me and so I used these 2 strong animals to represent strength.  But elephants are also loveable; and this bear with his red ribbon looked so sweet, I added the quality of loveable to the quality strong.

New moon in Libra

A quick nod to the new moon phase for October.

'Balance', art journal, 6 by 8 ins dbl page spread.

A collage page spread, to celebrate the New moon phase for October.  I did this around 7 am and so that was fairly near the new moon appearance in UK at around 1 am.

Libra is a time for balance, it seems, so I made balance my word for the spread.

I did a bit of journal writing on the blank page, which was then gesso-ed over. Next,  I glued a butterfly picture napkin to the page.  Then added the word.  I didn't do any other art on the page.  I was thinking of Japanese art and how they leave plenty of space.  

I was pleased to get it done around the moon time!!

Blood Moon

To mark the occasion of the Blood Moon last night.

Since joining the moon journalling site by +Effy Wild , I have become intrigued by the phases of the moon....I didn't take any notice before.

Last night was a blood moon/full moon, which is fairly rare and significant in meaning for astrology.

I saw the full moon at its normal white state when out with the dog, but didn't wait up to witness the blood moon state which was around 3 or 4 am.

This little rabbit in my journal seems to have been awake to see it though!

I heart art

Moon journal spread.

'I heart art', art journal spread, Journal is around 6 by 4 ins.

This is my morning of the New moon spread.  Following +Effy Wild 

I used a face on text paper that I posted a while ago.  Its good to have these doodles on hand for pasting into a journal page!  I coloured her face in with my  +derwentpencils  watercolour pencils, which I don't often use and so I was surprised at how lovely and creamy they were.

P.S. I notice the new moon is not until tomorrow, so I am a day early....I think its OK as long as you are around the time of the new moon!!
