'The Russian doll', 12 ins sq., card, mixed media
I really like mixed media work which uses multiple media plus collaged papers. I like the collaged elements probably because in the past, I loved to make papier-mache objects....essentially glued paper.
This painting came out rather dark and so I may work on the lights some more. If I do more I will update the photo.
I was so thrilled with doing the mixed media, I went into town this morning to buy some ribbon scraps and more papers for collage...
Have a great weekend.
Bye for now.

fabulous colours on this
I love this one so much I have nesting dolls very similar to that babushka. Love the whimsy of this piece...the great colour and the womans fun face! Really a great piece!! Glad you are finding new excitement in creating these...can't wait to see more!!

strange, for some reason this reminded me of a dress I had long ago. The color and the pattern somehow.
Love your colourful mixed media pieces! And the expression on her face ... :-)
I love this. The woman on the right almost has a fairy tale book illustration look to her. Great color choices. :) Erika
June, your mixed media piece is beautiful. The colors don't appear too dark for me. I love the little Russian doll.
That's GORGEOUS!!!!
