'Toucan', A4, craft paper, pen and wax crayons
A study of a toucan from a reference photo on wetcanvas. This was for our july project/classical forum projects/...using pen and ink.
Toucans are such bold brightly coloured birds, they are amazing fun to draw and colour.
I like the toucans which sing on the kids TV programme from the BBC...'In the night garden.' But I have never seen a toucan IRL...Maybe our local zoo has one so I should check that out. I know they have cockatoos, cassowaries and kookaburras, all big colourful birds, so there's a good chance there's a toucan in there somewhere!
Now that I am familiar with its design/ colours, perhaps a toucan will make an appearance in one of my figurative paintings soon.

I always think of out lovely Blackbirds with their large Yellow beaks
as mini Toucans.

depending on the zoo and the space available they might have toucans :) if they have a cassowarie (love them), they probably do
