My wax crayon style but in oils.

An experiment.

'Beside the pond', alkyd oils, 12 by 10 ins., canvas board.

I attempted to paint in oils as if I was using wax crayons.  It took about 3 times as long as crayon.  So not sure if I will repeat that experiment any time soon.

Good to try it out though.

Phew, exhausted with all the play!

Update:

I am linking to paint party Friday.  Please visit this bloghop to see the work from creatives around the world!  Maybe you would like to join too.

Your painting is absolutely fantastic, it looks like you put a lot of hard work into it, with great results. No wonder poor Susie is knocked out! Hugs, Valerie

Wow June!
I love your artwork with all of its beautiful colors!!!
To use oil paints would have had me so nervous that I would probably have paint everywhere :)
Gorgeous art and I adore Kitty, too :)

Your piece is amazing. Using oils can definitely be an adjustment (most of my paintings are acrylic, but I'm playing with oils as well). What a sweet kitty!

I must admit I don't see much difference between this and the ones with crayons. They're both beautiful ... Love all the colours.

Another fantastic beautiful artwork June.. it looks like you've painted over carved wood.
Were there any pro's for using that paint? other wise 3 x as long des seem hard work - no wonder Susie looked fed up - she was waiting for you to play with her :)
Have a lovely weekend... Gill x
