Self portraits this week.
Small practice studies from a vintage photo of myself around 5 years old.
In the third painting, I look as if I'm about to burst into tears... that's more to do with my present day frustration at trying to paint a likeness, rather than the expression of the original photo.
However, although I've painted a less than happy face...at least its an emotion. That's my justification anyway.
While painting... I noticed how similar I looked to my grandmother, even at this young age.
I hope to look out some more photos of myself at different ages and try portraits in different mediums.
This project was for PYHAS 18. Lesson by Roselyn Pratt.
Have a happy day.
Bye for now.
