'Sumatran tiger and bird', watercolours, Saunders paper, 10 by 13 ins.
Above painting, with an 8 by 12 matt.
I was trying out compositions and techniques here.
I added a little bird on the branch to give the tiger something to look at.
I used a fairly detailed watercolour approach inspired by a visit to the local gallery to view watercolours by Seddon and Holman Hunt, who were pre-Raphaelite Victorian English painters.
Below are some photos of yours truly on my visit to the local gallery.
In front of a sculpture, Electrolier. by Jon Mills.
At the main entrance to Wolverhampton City art gallery.
Crouching next to a statue of the 'Reclining Buddha'.
I'm not sure if I'll post in my blog over the next 2 weeks as I am having a kitchen refit and there will be no time to paint I guess.
Bye for now...

Your tiger is wonderful. Looks like you had fun at the museum with your poses, love the 'halo'. Have a great day, hugs, Valerie
