Day 23. Line and watercolour.
Day 19. Ink wash. 'Eating the turtle's egg'.
Days 20 and 21. Ink wash.
Days 22 and 24. Ink wash, with some pan pastels on the baby meerkat.
Here are some of my latest studies of meerkats, from photos, for inktober 2019.
I'm hoping to internalise the shapes and behaviour of meerkats so that I can incorporate meerkats into drawings from my imagination later on.
Here's where I got to with 4 of the pages. For the project, we are invited to also layer the backs of the sheets and then fold them down to make art journals. However, I think I will leave my sheets as background papers then do some paintings on them.
As your can see, inktober and online classes are making me do lots.
What are you doing in your art these days?
Have a great weekend. From June and Susie.
Bye for now!

Your meerkats are wonderful, they are getting better and better, and they were great to start with! Love those colourful pages, too. Hugs, Valerie
Love your meerkats, you have a real feel for them June... they'll be beautiful little creatures to pop in and out of your artworks.
Your mixed media pieces are gorgeous, those colour combos are enjoyable to see.
