'In the delphinium garden', mixed media, 15 by 11 ins., Fabriano paper
Sketch for the painting, ' In the delphinium garden'.
I started this piece earlier in the week and put finishing touches to it today. (The scan is rather off in colour as the sky is more ultramarine than cerulean blue as it appears here.)

The coloured artwork was done using wax pastels (caran d'ache neocolour 1) and acrylics. The figure and the bird were coloured in wax onto cardstock and collaged onto the sheet of watercolour paper. The background was painted with acrylics. There was an overlap of acrylic paint onto the wax pastels here and there. I am still experimenting with this technique.
In other news, Toby had to visit the vet for an eye infection and got drops, jabs, and tablets. Hopefully he will be up and about as usual very soon!
Bye for now...

Many thanks for visiting and commenting.
The caran d'ache pastels come in a beautiful co-ordinated set of colours, and at the moment, I like to use them all...in the one picture.
