From my perspective

Journal 52 challenge: perspective

Here's my page spread for this week.

'From my perspective', mixed media, art journal

Continuing with the blue China theme somewhat.

I loved the blue willow pattern teacups my grandmother used when I was growing up.  They were fairly popular years ago and perhaps still popular today.

For this page spread, I applied an acrylic wash in ultramarine blue to a piece of Chinese watercolour  paper for my background.  I collaged on a couple of fabric squares which I got delivered from China via Amazon.  Then I searched through my stache of text clippings to make a poem that suited.

The poem reads as follows:

I lie under flimsy cloud,
to think of things,
heaven and earth weave,
of sun and moon,
the sunshine of spring.

Wind and bamboo
speak to each other,
in one voice.
from my perspective.

By June Walker.

I like 'finding' poems in this way and  I like the poetry-visual art combination. My favourite poetry genre is imagist Nature poetry!  I also like the collections of illustrated poems by William Blake...songs of innocence and experience.

Do you have a favourite poet?

Bye folks...
