Arum lily. Red panda.

 Acrylics.

'Arum Lily'.  Acrylics, 12 by 12 ins., card.

'Red panda'.  9 by 12 ins., on paper.

Update 1.

As you can see, I was working on female portraits in acrylics this week.  The red panda was based on a cuddly toy I have at home.  As for the arum lilies, I used to have them in my garden when I lived in NZ, but then I had white ones.  Red suited the painting more.

I am beginning to feel more at ease with working in acrylics for light (Caucasian) skin tones.   I find African skin hues much easier to paint.

Color mixing sure is a complex study!!  For example, getting the shadow colours to work.  But I am enjoying experimenting.

Good to have a weekend break.

Bye for now....

You are so very good with people and animals. Your people aren't awkward like mine are!!! I think you are very good at mixing colors. Wish we lived close so we could paint together!
