Watercolours.
'I spy'. Watercolours, 5 by 8 ins., paper.
'Serval gaze.' Watercolours, 3.5 by 5 ins., paper.
Two mini watercolour paintings to get started with watercolour painting for July world watercolour month.
There may be a prompt list for this event but I am following my own path and I have decided to practise painting animals in watercolours, starting with cats, of course!
My first art piece is a domestic tabby kitten, reference courtesy of pmp-art.com. The second is a wild African serval savannah cat, courtesy of unsplash.com.
For these first 2 cats, I went back to a style I used many years ago, which is mini in size, fairly detailed for the main image, fairly loose for the backgound.
It felt quite comfortable to go back and use this style.

I hope you have a good weekend.

Very sweet cat paintings. The African looks quite wild in eyes so it's very well painted.
Your Susi is darling!!
Happy weekend xx
I love your style. The paintings are very beautiful and so well done. Susie is precious!
