'The swan', day 5, pen and pan pastels, card, A4
Day 3, red and green lady, was to try out my new set of pan pastels. I have a small set of 20 colours, and I like these pastels for monotone backgrounds, but probably prefer soft pastel sticks for blended skin tones.
Day 4 was a pencil sketch which was loosely based on a face in a magazine for head position...I changed the features and hairstyle on my version. It ended up looking unlike the photo in the magazine! But that's OK as I was going for the angle of the head.
Day 5 has 2 faces:- the doodled face on a book page which may be useful for a future mixed media project, and the quick pen drawing in scribble style, which was to try out the combination of ink with pan pastels.
That's the catch-up for this weekend.

Wow June - four great faces today - and once again all so very different.
They are fabulous.
Do you use a fixative on your pastels?
