A watercolour week

Watercolours.

'Yorkie on her hat,' watercolours, 11.9 by 9.5 approx., paper.

Susie says: what mascara should she wear?

Susie says: she is great just as she is.

Some practice with watercolours.   This technique is actually a watercolour resist.  A stencilled resist pattern in gel medium is applied on the paper before painting with colours.

Susie loves clambering over the make-up table to get to the window.

That's all for this week.  Too cold to do much.

Bye for now....

colourful painting :) I haven't used that resist effect for awhile, but it can come in handy to get some interesting textures to a painting

Very nice, June. Love the colors. Cute Yorkie, too. Does your Susie know the old saying: curiosity killed the cat?

Susie is absolutely right :-) What a fun idea to try with watercolors. I'm going to use watercolors a bit more this year, and this is a great tip. Lovely painting!
