'Bird on her shoulder', 8 by 8 ins., art journal sketch.
This small sketch is an idea from a class by Renata Loree on the course PYHAS18. I sketched whilst balancing the notebook on my knee, watching the video on my PC. So it didn't turn out too badly, considering.
What I liked about Renata's idea was the little bird's pose, tucked and perched onto the girl's shoulder and looking at the same thing as the girl off in the distance.
The reason I haven't done art this week is that I have been in the middle of a kitchen refit since last Thursday. Whilst its all very noisy and so rather stressful, it is wonderful to see the kitchen progressing.
Today, the wall tiling was completed. There is still the painting and floor covering to come!! So it will be middle of next week before all is done.
Here are some photos of the progress.
Arrival of the new cupboards.
Susie inspecting the newly installed cupboards.
Susie scent-marking to claim the kitchen.
Me, happy with new cupboards and waiting for the tiling to be done.
Bye for now from Susie and June.
Have a lovely noise-free weekend!

The sketch is fantastic, love the bird on her shoulder. Glad you and Susie are having fun in spite of all the work. Hugs, Valerie
A lovely sketch. I think a nice bird makes always good for painting.
Congrats for your new kitchen! Sure Susie enjoy it, too.
Happy PPF and weekend xx
