Abstract.

Watercolours, Oil pastels.

'Looking skywards', watercolour and brush pen, on paper, 4 by 6 ins.

'Creature 1'.  Oil pastels, 11 by 15 ins. on paper.

1. 'Looking skywards'

I used Japanese watercolour and a Japanese brush pen, so I am surprised the figures didn't turn out looking Japanese!!

2. 'Creature 1'

The oil pastel abstract was an attempt to get back into OPs.  I used to do a lot of OP work a few years ago, mainly animal portraits.

In this abstract, I was trying a new box of neopastels from Caran d'Ache.    They gave excellent coverage and are not too creamy.  I have some Senneliers and they are a bit too creamy for some effects.  So a combination of the two types may be a good idea in future works.

Oh... a bit of  'happy' news... nothing to do with painting.   I won a box of 7 sets of pearl earrings from The Pearl Company in a give-away on Facebook.  So that was a surprise as I never usually win things!!

OK that's it for this week.

Have a lovely weekend.

Bye for now.

The OPs you are using look highly pigmented-lovely colors together! I have some dry pastels that I hope to use with the acrylics. I never got the hang of OP-but I probably never had a good set. Lovely that you won some pearls! How wonderful! Wear them in good health!!!
