'Iris in a blue vase', 4 by 6 ins, pen and wash on watercolour paper.
Postcard size study of an iris inspired by a photo on wetcanvas. I picked this because I thought it looked simple, but in fact I found it quite intricate..so I took a fairly careful approach to get all the positions of the petals.
It could be thought of as a small study for a larger format with a looser approach.

I think I will pick or buy some flowers at the weekend to do some studies from life next week.
